Six Tiny Tots graduate

Written by Hanne Howard

Friday, Dec 3rd was a great day at HHFL with the celebration of yet another great achievement!  “the graduation ceremony of our Tiny Tot Nursery kids”.   Six Tiny Tots paraded in front of the entire student body, parents, guests and board of directors decked out in their graduation hats and ceremonial garlands.  A sweet, sweet sight!  They entertained us with song and dance and the cutest and funniest simulated fashion show where the tots displayed lots of bravado and attitude to the loud cheering and clapping of all, especially our teenagers!

The ceremony concluded with a presentation of our newly formed choir directed by one of our own, new high school graduate, Alice Adhiambo. Another moment of wonder and loud cheering! and with the news of a super treat provided by Michael Wilde our faithful sponsor from Dubai who providentially showed up with a case of over 200 apples and juices!  The kids were over the moon!!

Teacher Esther has been with us only for 6 month, but the difference in the running of HHFL’s Early Education Center was palpable and immediately apparent to me on my return to Nairobi early November.   The classrooms had been transformed into happy, colorful and energy laden spaces full of sunshine and happy little faces.  The discipline and order in them was music to my ears.  The Tiny Tots program is in capable hands and I wish to take this opportunity to thank Teacher Esther and Teacher Nancy for their great work.
