Ngina is accepted into the best university for finance in Kenya

Written by Ngina, HHFL’s second high school graduate, 2009

I feel very blessed and full of gratitude for the amazing chance HHFL has given me. Getting a high school education was a big thing for me, as living in a rural area of Kenya and the financial reality of my loving and caring parents did not stretch that far. But, I have to admit, that the opportunity of achieving a University degree surpassed my wildest dreams.

In January 2011 I nearly fainted when I learned that I had been accepted by Strathmore University, the best finance school in Kenya to pursue a three-year degree career to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). This is definitely the most exciting thing that has ever happened to me. I love University life and its atmosphere. I have made many new friends and together we dream and work hard. Since we are all from different backgrounds, the sharing of our history and sometimes painful past is becoming another valuable tool in the pursuit of excellence. We all understand that education is the key to success, and this common goal binds us.

I am determined to succeed and make HHFL & our dear donors, who are helping make my dream a reality, proud. This dream includes becoming the Chief Accountant in a reputable organization and giving back to our community by volunteering at HHFL to help keep their books and conduct their audits.

May the Lord bless all of you and your family. My gratitude has no limits.

With love and all my affection, Ngina
