Flower Power! Compound beautification party

Flower Power! Compound beautification party

Written by Diana, HHFL 8th grader

It was on a Thursday  9/2015 afternoon, all of us were planting flowers to our new home. Each and every person was holding a flower of their choice. We decorated the fence near our gate with lots of flowers it looks just wow.

It's always a team effort at HHFL

Even our cooks, teachers and staff  also planted some flowers and decorated the flower garden that we had planted for our brother Grison Ngugi.  We  decided to plant some new flowers to make our home look beautiful.

Having fun beautifying the HHFL outdoor space!

In this place that we are living it surrounded with green trees and it is  very cool not like the way we were surrounded with the smell of slum. This home look wonderful and it is also surrounded with some big flowers and trees. The hostels look good they have good windows and doors which are very strong. The compound looks good because it has green grass not like the other project the compound had soil all over the place. I can say like everything in this place. Each and every person loves this place a lot. We want to decorate this place and make it the best home ever.

Even the simple act of planting flowers gives our HHFL children such joy and a sense of pride. Proof that any small pleasure brings them hope. Learn more about donating and how you can help here.
